Cruiser chair concept






Cruiser Chair
Inspired by a battleship from a 90s real-time strategy game StarCraft, this  office  chair is a tribute to gamers all around the  world. Amidst an inter-galactic war with two alien  races, the humans developed an epitome of technology - the battle cruiser ship.  It is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. The cruiser chair takes inspiration from this battleship in terms of design as well as strength. The design looks robust and elegant at the same time.
This product is designed  for the  employees in the gaming industry and also for anybody who shares the same passion. Companies have  various strategies to motivate  their employees at work. The battle cruiser  defines a very powerful status of the one who owns it in the game. This product is an attempt to make that passion a part of their day-to-day lives in order to enhance their work  experience and productivity.

The aesthetics of the chair have a futuristic  sci-fi    element. It is designed in a way that when seen from the   top it is a silhouette of the battleship. 
The chair is produced using 3 different materials and production  techniques. The outer frame that holds the  seat is made out of aluminium using the dye-casting  technique. It has basic joineries using  metal bar and bolts. The frame of the backrest and the seat is made out of medium density polyethylene using reaction injection moulding. The seat  and the backrest is made out of medium density memory foam. The spine uses a much softer  low density foam . The base is a generic four-wheel swivel base connected through nuts and bolts.
